We made it back to Atlanta safe and sound and seriously need to build an ark over here. I don’t think I’ve seen this much rain ever in my life. Just in the last 24 hours, we have had something like 12 inches. It has been crazy!! We had to dud Emmy Cate up in her “raingear” to venture out today because we were so stir crazy from staying indoors. Here she is peeking outside wondering if it’s a good idea to go out. Turns out it was a terrible idea!! It rained cats and dogs the whole day and it took us 45 minutes to get home from a store that was about 2 miles away since the road in front of our neighborhood was closed and the other way around was packed with traffic. Then, when we got home, Daddy was diving in water to unclog storm drains and was generally a mess!! Some of the neighbor’s houses flooded and pools overflowed and Nathan had to help a few people bail out their homes! We were lucky and escaped only a little water seeping in under a door in the basement. What a mess!!
Welcome to our blog!! We welcomed our first child, Emmy Cate, to the family on May 21, 2009 and she is already 2! We hope you enjoy our journey through parenthood!

Glad you made it home safely - i saw the rain on the weather map and wondered if you had to drive thru it!!

Boy is she adorable in that outfit. Can't wait to see her next week-end. Glad you guys are back safely and hopefully did not have to drive home in that. I hope the flooding situation is over. That is scary and very hard to see and not be able to do a lot about. Love you all.....Thanks for the pictures.
